Primghar Iowa History
O'Brien County is named after William Smith O'Brien, one of the leaders of the Irish Independence in 1848. The county was established in 1851 and originated in 1860. |read more

O'Brien County Court House
In 1860, a log courthouse was built on a farm for about $2,000 in O'Brien County. For some reason, it was later moved and reassembled in a different rural setting. There it would be used as a school, blacksmith shop, and a stable. |read more
